the big song of the universe and one big tree we’ve known
Mindfully connecting with vibrational space + sacred ground…
Being a musician and all, our dear neighbour asked me to write something about music for our community newsletter… seemed to make sense. I wish to share a wee bit from my Scottish ancestry (highlands)—a beautiful poetic term known as the Òran Mór. Translated from the Scots Gaelic, òran means ‘song’ and mòr means ‘big’… thus, ‘big song’ or ‘great melody of the universe’.
I adore this mindset of the Celts that affirms that everything in our universe is a song, holding energy and vibration. And that includes EVERY THING… our bodies, the sky, rocks, plants, a chair, the ocean, mountains, even dis-ease, etc. Our own hearts hold a specific song-resonance where, it has been noted that our heart’s energy field is very large extending way beyond our physical body. We also know that trees also hold their own song with big hearts too, that radiate around them wide.
When we moved to our new home over a year and a half ago, one of the first things I did upon arriving was to ‘say hello’ to everything around me. It’s a way for me to get to know where I am, ground and connect spiritually to all I meet. Mindfully, i walked around the property and was particularly taken with one big old Pine tree out near our community garden. Something about it’s spirit told me to stop and say hello. When i walked around this grand tree, i noticed a big face in it’s trunk and we greeted each other eye-to-eye. Such a beauty with their long-green straight spines and gigantic sticky cones lying all over the grass below. I told them my name and they told me theirs saying, “I am peacekeeper.” I thanked them for welcoming me to this new place and i continue to say hello and commune with them.
I was saddened to hear that this grand Pine is not well and we as a community have had to make the tough decision to have it taken it down, because it’s now posing danger to our building or someone if it falls.
And, so, I wish to thank this handsome tree with one huge heart for it’s beautiful big song and know within my own heart, it’s resonant song will continue singing—somewhere in our grand universe.
In deep gratitude, thank you dear one,

UPDATE… September 22, 2023… this dear tree was indeed taken down today on Fall Equinox… hard to believe though we know it needed to happen as noted above. However, still a hard scene to watch as he came down branch by branch + bit by bit until he was gone. We know his spirit does live on and a dear neighbour told me earlier that she had sat with peacekeeper, giving him a head’s up of what was to happen and he told her….
“i know that my time here is complete and i will move on to another place… ….”
Thank you dear peacekeeper for being with us, in this place for about 30+ years. We offer much love + appreciation for your time here in our community. I know your sweet song of peace will continue on… continue on… However, i will miss your beautiful eyes.
much much love, weaver x (((o))) 🎶
