“Drum sound rises on the air, its throb, my heart. A voice inside the beat says, I know you're tired, but come. This is the way.” —Rumi
Walking home, a couple of weeks ago, i was graced to hear a couple of chickadees suddenly going off in big song… i stopped to listen. (see/hear video below poem)…
Whenever this kind of animistic moment shows up so strong, i’m nudged to the possible spirit meaning of the animal that has revealed itself so. These words seemed very appropriate for me for this time.
One of the primary gifts of chickadee spirit is simple joy, a sense of serenity and a breath of fresh air… reminding us to breathe, take it in and listen to their sweet song. They also bring good news and announce better things to come. Chickadee can teach us that our old patterns don’t work anymore and bolsters self-awareness with trust. Little chickadee can also bring a lightness of spirit and their song can soothe and massage away worry and fear.
The Celts + Norse credit chickadee with giving glorious words to poets; this is evident in the fact they have deities like wise harp playing Bragi, who is the god of writing, melody, music and the performing arts.
Okay!
Later, a poem dropped out…
ross way
walking down
this same way
back to my new home
that still doesn’t
feel quite like
home
yet
head down
freckled grey asphalt
almost wandering
lost
feeling under
blood big loss
sucks
what the
hell happened
i wonder
where went the awe
i used to
know so well
stalled
i must meet
ease
to letting go
of that
which is over
so done
yes
i am
to my right
my heart struck open
in one breath
language of birds
oh praise singers hallelujah i
awake
i am
part of
the perfect
rhythm and flow
of life
all is in divine right
order
my drum
she
speaks
pick me up
i will
hold
you
