listening…
a deep grief for all we have unlearned…
Once wind sang a song
now it wails against the pines
voices full of loss
—haiku by weaverLast week in the afternoon, i was sitting in a grief circle when, suddenly, i felt a strange anxiety—though i’m not sure that’s the right word. It was more like a strong energy that rose up from the earth, into my feet, and right up through my body. I thought to myself, ‘What the heck is that?’ and took a few deep, silent breaths to regain my focus on the circle.
Later, the lights flickered on and off in the room. I remember a few of us wondering what was going on. When i left the circle shortly after, a freak windstorm was blowing in without what seemed any warning. As i drove home, i was surprised to see a lot of tree branches and debris scattered all over the road. Winds were reported to have been gusting up 100 km/hr where trees and hydro lines were knocked down all over our wee island, including up and down main Vancouver island. I give great gratitude to BC Hydro who got power back as fast as they could.
Below, a poem 💨💨💨
listening…
a shiver
swiftly rose
out of nowhere from
hallowed ground into
my feet and up through my core
before sister wind found
her voice and the standing
ones began to speak and dance.
not in warning though, in
a deep grief for all we’ve
unlearned
about listening.

What are your thoughts? i always welcome them.
Brightest blessings with love, weaver x (((💜)))

Also, to note: The world’s top weather agency just added a new number to the climate story and it may be the most fundamental one of all. »

I hear you. I hear this wind
