i’m sitting here chowing down on some cereal with almonds and the first cuppa joe in one long while… and still feeling the reverberations of immense love from yesterday, during our full moon concert…
It’s been over a year since we have performed live and this show was a very fast turnaround than previous shows. I had just come off our annual Thanksgiving Studio Tour, having to totally switch gears to prepare for our concert which we named, ‘with love from the all to the all… listen…’
The above video clip is from our opening, to help us all ground along with the frame drum… a wonderful chant by Paramahansa Yogananda called, ‘Listen, Listen’… here are the lyrics:
‘listen, listen, listen to my heart song, listen, listen, listen to my heart song, i will never forget you, i will never forsake you… i will never forget you, i will never forsake you’…
I have often taught this chant to my drum students to help them connect to their own heartbeat thus, to their own drum’s heartbeat… a living, breathing being + co-creation. Playing the drum also helps us to ground and connect with our blessed earth Mother who is the living heartbeat-song of all… the great song of the universe.
It truly was a beautiful time together yesterday afternoon at the newly renovated Theatre Centre. Both Allannah + i couldn’t do it without all the beautiful souls who come to ‘be’ with us, as we share our sacred heart-song + poetry. It was cool that we shared almost, all original material that we have both composed. I was sharing four pieces that were from my early past that i wrote from my teenage/early 20s years—a full circle of sorts? Whoa…
This theatre holds much history here on our wee island. It was Antony Holland’s granddaughter’s family who managed to purchase the property/theatre back in 2021 and worked hard to have it renovated back beautifully two years later. We are so lucky to have been the first musical event to help open this great space, the Gabriola Theatre Centre and be able to play in this resonant space once again. We hope to be back sometime in the spring.
We enjoyed a full house of love and even though we played through a few bimps and bumps throughout our hour and half together, we sang, chanted and we sat within some silence of respite together, only to be brought back through the sound of a 528 hertz tone of love.
I feel the most potent moment for me + many, was near the end, when i was thanking all who helped make this concert a reality… as it truly takes so many. I also thanked the late + beloved Antony Holland for creating the space, when the lights flickered in that divine moment.
And, in that space, that treasured heartbeat, we all knew that Antony was with us, listening!
Wow… thank you… thank you all… my heart is so full!
Within much love, weaver x (((💜))) #loveislove
ps… thanks to Jasmine for everything and to Louise for capturing some video 💜🙏🏼💜
